Overview of Scholarship Fund

Theatrical Threads supports a network of Title 1 Schools throughout the DFW Metroplex. Each year scholarship funds are given to Performing Arts Programs at these schools to help fund costumes, clothing and rehearsal attire.

Why Give?

  • Low-income students are highly engaged in the arts are twice as likely to graduate college as their peers with no arts education.

  • Students with high arts participation and low socioeconomic status have a 4 percent dropout rate—five times lower than their low socioeconomic status peers

  • Two-thirds of public-school teachers believed that the fine arts are among subjects getting crowded out of the school day by a focus on math and English

What is a Title 1 School?

A Title I school is a school which receives supplemental funding from the federal government to improve education programs for students from low-income families.
